See what we’ve done.
“What a Day That Will Be” by Tim Stacy.

“Jim Hill wrote ‘What a Day that Will Be’ in 1955…The story began when Jim Hill’s mother-in-law suffered a stroke when she was only 50. Hill was a new Christian and didn’t understand why God would allow suc a good woman to suffer so. One day while on is way home from work, he began thinking about a verse in Revelation that describes the day when all our troubles will be behind us. He exclaimed, ‘What a day that will be!’ When he got home, he saw some cardboard and began writing on it. Those words became the song many have loved over the years” (from Christianity.com).

“Lord, I’m Coming Home” by Garland Elmore, Sr, accompanied by Dana Bowen on the piano.

The hymn was written in 1892 by William Kirkpatrick, who “wrote [it]  when he attended a series of Methodist Camp Meetings in Pennsylvania. He was moved to pray for the unsaved soloist who performed each night. One evening, the lyrics and tune to this ong came to [him] as he prayed. He wrote them down and handed them to the soloist. The soloist sang the song the next night and, while singing…felt inspired to stay for the sermon. Following the sermon, the soloist responded to the altar call and received Christ” (from Christianity.com).

In the morning worship service on February 12, 2023, 19 people gathered around the altar to pray (while others prayed at their seats) for specific names of unsaved family and friends. Over that past few weeks, testimonies of God working have been coming in and we’re expecting more great things in the days ahead. God is moving at the Church of the Nazarene in Logan!

Not quite ready to go on a nationwide tour, The Spontaneous Quartet impulsively came together (at the urging of Pastor Russ) to sing “Beulah Land” as the Holy Spirit moved during the Sunday morning worship service on January 15, 2023. Members of the quartet include (from left to right): Garland Elmore, Sr., Tim Stacy, Rev. Russell Carson and Rev. Daryl Densford, with a little help from Dana Bowen at the piano providing vocal assistance.

Then, of course, we had to have some fun. Here’s a mock magazine cover touting the new quartet!
