There’s a place for you to serve.

Jesus told us, his disciples, to make disciples of all nations. One of the most important values of this church is our mission to the world. It begins in our own community, and spreads overseas to every nation. Church members can be  involved in a variety of ministries.

Mission Outreach

Logan Church of the Nazarene is thrilled to be part of the spread of God’s kingdom around the world. As part of the International Church of the Nazarene, we participate in sending missionaries and supporting those missionaries with our money and with our prayers. We encourage all of our people to respond to God’s call for laborers, whether it means they move to a foreign country or live and minister in our own community. When we can’t go ourselves, participating in the special projects and offerings which support missions around the world is always a great way to participate in worldwide outreach!

Music Ministry

God-honoring worship is something we strive for at Logan Church of the Nazarene. Many church members get involved in our music ministry. It may be as simple as joining the choir on Sunday mornings for the choir special or singing or playing a special song before the sermon. You may feel called to share your gifts and talents by singing, playing an instrument or even leading the music. If you feel God leading you to get more involved, talk to the pastor and we’ll find a place for you!

Ushers

The usher team at our church fills an important role. They are involved in greeting and directing attendees to their seats, ensuring the safety of the building during services, helping visitors, answering questions, providing direction, unlocking and locking doors, receiving the offerings, and generally ensuring that the service can proceed problem-free. The usher team is a servant-hearted group of men and women whose ministry is integral to church life.

Prayer Warriors

The power of prayer cannot be overestimated. Prayer moves the hand of God. Our Church is a body of believers dependent upon prayer, and committed to God’s sovereignty. Every Wednesday we spend special time in prayer. Throughout the week, many members pray for the pastor, church members, special requests, and missionary prayer needs. It doesn’t need to be official, anyone can pray and we encourage you to become one of our Prayer Warriors!

Sunday School Teachers

We’re always hoping to begin new classes for different groups in the church and community and also occasionally need short-term substitutes for our current classes. If you feel led to teach and have gifts and talents for teaching, talk to the Pastor about how you would like to get involved.

Children’s Church Workers

As our church recovers from the losses and limitations from the COVID Pandemic we want to be prepared to give children the best Bible teaching possible, in conjunction with the main service and with Sunday School classes. These special times give kids more opportunity for interaction and learning in a context and manner that may be better suited to their age and learning styles. We’re always looking for friendly children’s church and Sunday School volunteers who have an endless stream of creativity.

Camp Counselors

Each summer the West Virginia Churches of the Nazarene host youth camps for all ages. The events involve games, preaching, great food, good worship, and the intentional influence of camp counselors. The camp counselors find that their ministry is personally rewarding, and both campers and counselors grow in the process. If you’re interested in volunteering to be a camp counselor, talk to the Pastor or call the church office for more information or learn more at the WV South District website.

For more information on how you can be trained and prepared to participate in any of our ministries, call the church office at 304-752-6778 and you will be directed to the pastor or volunteer leader involved in that ministry.
